Hi all!
Just joined up last night and thought I'd write a bit of an intro.
I've stuttered all my life and felt like it was my fault. Not a good feeling and I felt I was the only one because I had never met another stutterer. Only recently-- because of Facebook and forums like this-- have I become more relaxed, accepting and open about my stuttering and it feels great! I really wish I knew about this years ago.
In fact, I even launched my own podcast about stuttering! I'm the only person I know who stutters so I'm hoping to meet fellow stutterers through my podcast (and here). But most importantly, to hear them speak. What changed my perception about my stuttering was hearing other people stutter (on other podcasts). So I hope to encourage the same on mine podcast-- with audio comments! The site is stutteringiscool.com (http://www.stutteringiscool.com). I hope you don't mind my shameless plug :)
By day I am a web designer and social media strategist and on the side I do freelance illustration. Despite my age, I enjoy collecting (read: watching) cartoons :) Hence, the illustration stuff. You'll find more about me in my profile.
What I like about these forums is I can help people who stutter like me :)
