Hi everyone,
My name is Atro, I have been stuttering from age 5, and how it began might be a little different than others around.
Our home was hit by a missile from an Iraqi plane when I was living in Iran. that reconfigured something in my brain and I began stuttering.
I have been in therapies, none worked. It has influenced my life like everyone else here. But im trying to have it under control or when It's not under control I just dont talk :p

Relationship wise, I finally found someone that could live with it. Jobwise, I chose computer programming to have the least interaction with human beings :) one might call it pathetic but after years of being bullied, It's a reasonable choice.

Nice to be here and Im gonno start reading the forums to know about your side of story

Hi Atro, nice to have you here. Thats an amazing story about how your stuttering began. Where are you living now? Were you injured badly, other than the stutter? Is your stuttering similar to other stutters where it gets worse in tense situations? Do you feel the stutter is do to the physical injuries of the blast, or the emotional ordeal of the situation?

Once again, its great to have you here.

Hi there,
I've been living in the UK for the last 10 years. I didn't have any physical injuries at all, its just that the shockwave of the blast did it. The doctors said that my brain was somehow influenced, but I didn't feel anything special changed in my brain, I just lost the ability to put words together after that moment.
Yeah my stutter definitely gets worse when Im nervous, however it depends on many other reasons too. But to be honest, sometimes it really gets bad for just no reason at all.

Hi

I just discovered this forum. While I personally do not have fluency concerns, I am close to someone who is affected. My hope is to gain further insight.

thanks
