Hi Robin,
I stutter on certain letters too and I know from doing research the therapist's say to work through the letter you get stuck on and don't try to change the word but it's easier said then done.

Robin,
Yes I do have certain letters I stutter on more. Reading out loud is good. Do you stutter if you read out loud to yourself? I neither stutter when reading nor when talking to myself but how many people go around talking to them selves..LOL Try saying certain words in front of a mirror too, watch how your mouth forms the letters then when saying them in front of a miror then try to form your mouth the same way when talking to people.

no i dont stutter reading to myself ie in my head but i do stutter reading out loud, ive tried looking at my mouth and feeling my tongue on how i say certain words and the words that i stutter on, very interesting actually how i got it because before i was fine i could talk normal without stuttering, i wonder what causes stuttering its strange?!

How old are you Robin? Do you stutter saying your name or do you stutter on anything else? I've been stuttering since a young child and had therapy in school, it never really helped me.

That is weird that it started at 14 or 15, usually it starts in childhood. Have you done any research online about stuttering starting at teens?
Maybe as a teen because you started high school or middle school and it was a new place for you or maybe puberty set in, with hormones and all. I will try to do some research of my own and see if I find anything.
