hey to all :)
I would like to hear your thoughts about the following subject -
What would you do (or not do) if you didn't stutter ?
do you think would have chosen different paths in your life, have some other kind of career or would have make the same decisions and be more or less where you are now?
thanks for sharing

Hello Sharon..my name is Rebecca and i saw your question and it made me think. I have stuttered since i was a little girl..and still struggle with it. I think that my stuttering has affected me alot as i have become very fearful in social situations, and my self esteem has plumetted, but i somehow always get to these points in my life that i think "stuttering" should not define me as a person and what i am capable of. I am a very intelligent person, as im sure everyone who stutters is as well..we just have to remember to take one day at a time and remember that when we do stutter..it may shock people for an instant, but in the end they dont really care...just as i know i wouldnt judge someone who has a personal flaw that affected their daily life.
The other part of your question was if you didnt stutter..would i be relieved? I think it would make me feel better, cause when i have days where i am able to pronounce my name without stuttering badly or just have a fluent day..i am thrilled and feel great, so feeling like that everyday would be great. In reality i know that stuttering is a part of me...and will always be.
I hope that makes some sense...
Rebecca
